I’m so pleased with how it came out. I had to alter the pattern quite a bit for it to fit me properly. I made the sleeves a lot longer because I love long sleeves and shop clothes never seem to have them quit long enough for me. The lining took me a long time to figure out but in the end I managed it :) I also made the back all one piece and changed the pleats a bit.

What a wonderful jacket! And it fits so nicely, such a good work. I would like to sew that jacket, too. But I’m worried about the sizing, since the smallest size is 38 and Burda sizes tend to come out a bit larger. What’s your experience with that pattern? Is this a 38 or did you grade it down to a 36?

Thanks! I can’t remember which size I cut, but I generally measure all pattern piece before because specific sizes don’t usually fit me. As a gymnast, I have quite broad shoulders and a small waist. I do remember having to take a lot in on the pleats in front though.
Anyway, I hope your goes fine and I look forward to seeing it :)

Looks so good and classy! I like the alterations you’ve made. It looks a lot more versatile than the original pattern.

great job! i love the bright lining with the dark exterior! I think that always makes garments fun! I am attempting a “cape” —very plain outside but bright fun inside.
