Another top based on free Colette pattern http://www.coletterie.com/colette-patterns-news/free-pattern-to-download-the-sorbetto-top. I removed the fold down the front and added the cowl neck (I think its still called a cowl neck like this but might be wrong – please correct!) Its my first time sewing a silky material and it turned out OK but I had some problems with the bias binding because it is too stretchy and therefore it isn’t the neatest but its fine if you don’t look too closely. Also I found it difficult to iron the bust dart flat – any ideas why? Perhaps it wasn’t sewn well enough or just to do with the material. Anyhow I was quite pleased with the neck and overall effect (and people didn’t ask if it was homemade which they have with some of my other “creations”)!
I think its satin although the label said silk its more coarse than that.
