Black and Blue and Beige Blouson

Added May 11, 2010

by sibeli

Copenhagen, Denmark

My first attempt at a jacket… It’s based on a burda magazine pattern (you can find it here on burdastyle too). I made it a bit longer and changed the bottom, so it would look more ‘slouchy’ and relaxed. It’s fully lined (which took me longer than the outer part:-).
I can’t really decide whether to add a button or an invisible claspy thing….hm Does anyone have any ideas?

Material Notes

Microfiber, fake leather, lining, interfacing

I’ve only just stumbled upon this – it’s really, really nice. Looks great – especially for a first jacket. I might just have to make my own version.

This is amazing! You really inspired me to try my skills on a blazer, though i’m a little afraid it might be overwhelming for my novice skills!

Don’t be! It was my first attempt at a jacket too, so if I can… :-) Good luck with yours!

I love the contrast between the leatherette and the silk. Great idea. What a great eye you have!

Wow! This looks good!! Maybe you could pin on some buttons to see if you like it. I think if you don’t want to close it, you shouldn’t change it.

I love it -I wouldn’t add any sort of clasp or closure. I think its looks great the way it drapes.

Oh how gorgeous! Love it! Hrmm… does it need a clasp? Would you wear it done up? I had the same issue with a similar blazer I made… I ended up using a big black metal press stud. I looks so nice the way it is, I’d hate for you to spoil it!
