Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I made this dress for my best friend as a birthday gift. It’s the longest I ever worked on a project but the whole design process was very time consuming and also it was the first time I ever draped or boned anything. I used a Burda pattern (#107, 03/2010) for the bustier dress that is made out of heavy cream colored cotton which I then boned and lined with hot pink fabric. The draped overlay is made out of purple silk chiffon. I’m 99% happy with the result, I just wish I would have inserted a purple zipper instead of a beige one.

Thank you girls. I thought about replacing the zipper for a nanosecond when taking the pictures but I’m so glad I’m done with the project (my friend was quite a difficult client), I probably don’t want to do one more stitch on it ever again.

I like the dress! I agree on the zipper but even with the beige zipper it is a nice dress!
