This is pattern “K” in the Japanese sewing book Stylish Dress Book volume 1. Quite easy and quick and I love how it turned out, which is rare for me. It’s got a great billowy, loose fit that hits just above the hip. I used some kind of a vintage synthetic fabric with a drape to it (which I think is best for this pattern). I found it a few yards of it in a thrift store. Brown plastic buttons from the thrift store as well.
Polyester or blend

Fabulous. I actually made this out of fairly crisp cotton lawn (Liberty style) and it works very well too. In fact it’s like wearing nothing at all, it’s become my favorite for hot sticky days. Trust the Japanese for dealing with the heat elegantly..

Thanks:) That’s good to know! I was just looking through my fabric stash trying to find other fabric to make this top in.

Yes, they’re great. I bought all three volumes after seeing another burdastyle member’s amazing project made from these books:)
