I am very pleased that I was able to make this coat entirely from the stash, all the fabric, notions and pattern were all things that I already had on hand, even the different coloured sewing threads!
Pattern: Burdastyle 10/2011 issue.
This was a great pattern to make up, I combined the elements from the girls style (sleeve detail) and the boys style (length and patch pockets) for my DD, shortened the sleeves slightly, but no other changes were needed.
It fits beautifully and I think that my daughter actually likes it enough to wear it!
Fabric: Vintage wool check, viscose jersey for the hood lining, mystery rib for the sleeve ‘windcatcher’ and poly/cotton gingham for the lining’
Notions: Vintage grey/green buttons, grey shoelace (!) for the button loops and an oversize press stud for the hood closure.
