I’ve been wanting to make a bib dress, so when I knew about the Wenlan blouse pattern, I thought I can use it for my dress although my fabric is absolutely in different kind.
I omitted the tie collar (which was impossible anyway with my stiff fabric) and lengthened the pattern to make a dress. The embroidered cotton for the bib is a bit thin, so I lined it with plain cotton in broken white. The neckline was finished with bias binding, so were both of the armholes. I also added a pair of hidden pockets on the side seams because all dresses should have pockets! The stiff fabric makes the dress really looks different than the original. I especially like the sleeves, they stuck out like a pair of shoulder pads or mini wings. Love this bib dress!

Love it! Do you have any tips on how to alter the pattern? I’d love to make one :)

I simply love this dress! You really make the most beautiful things! I wonder if something like that would look good on me, being 88-67-92 and 177 cm tall.?

Very cute dress! I actually am quite surprised to see it turn out so well in a stiffer fabric – and they are very beautiful fabrics! You did a marvelous job!

Adorable…as usual! Are you selling all your dresses? Otherwise I guess you should have a huge collection of dresses by now! :)

I do sell some of my dresses, but most of them I keep for myself. My whole wardrobe is consisted of dresses (and tights) only!

Totally cute as usual. I was just looking through all of the patterns here on Burdastyle and wondered when someone would use this pattern and comment on it. I definitely wouldn’t have expected this, excellent modifications!
Love the red tights too!!

this dress is so adorable. i was considering getting the wenlan blouse pattern but the price kind of turned me off of it, but seeing the versatility of the pattern, i am definitely getting it.

Wow, I never would have pictured the Wenlan blouse in this stiff fabric, but it looks GREAT! So pretty!
