This is something I wanted to try for a long time: a plaid skirt cut on the bias. It was just a matter of finding the right fabric, at not too high a price. I really liked this plaid, and I think it would have been too big and bold for a lot of other things. When cut on the bias, it got quite stretchy, but with some careful placing and sewing I managed to almost match the checks at the seams, and get the blind zipper in smoothly. It has a knit lining. I had to redo the hem because my my handstitches got caught on edges of my shoes when walking outside. I used usuable fabric glue on the second try.
wool/polyesther blend fabric, knit lining fabric, blind zipper, satin bais tape (for hem), blind zipper
