BERNINA Halloween 2011 Where the WIld Things Are- MAX

Description
This is my favorite little wild thing in sherpa, attached hand claws, detachable clawed shoe covers, removable long faux fur tail with boingy springy and rigid whiskers. Fully washable. (except for the tail)
I designed the pattern, it is based on a vintage toddlers pajamas pattern with full zipper, raglan sleeves and hood. I make these in all sizes in fact, the last Max photo shows Max at Burning Man, made in 100% recycled pop bottle eco-fleece. Apparently it gets pretty cold at night in the desert so Max was an elaborate evening hoodie. Enjoy! and thanks for looking!
the very last photos show Moishe, the other wild thing, just for fun. He is not in his full glory hanging on a coat hanger, but sports a shaggy silk fur hood with teeth, horns, attached claws on hands and feet and painstakingly hand cut and stitched gray scales all over the pants. Fun little projects!

Material Notes
my most luxurious fabric (and most popular one) is sherpa. I do use all sorts of other fabrics ranging from flannel to organic cotton jerseys to eco-fleece. It is a very forgiving loose fitting and versatile design -suitable for most fabrics. Allow more room for ease when using woven fabrics.

thanks people! I do not have time to post a tute, since this is Max season at the studio, but simply use a kids Halloween animal pattern, modify the ears and use a decadent sherpa and good long hair faux fur for the tail, some big mismatched buttons, and voila! a wild thing! make a crown with pleather and fur and you will have the king of the wild things! Happy Halloween!

after my busy season is over, I would be happy to help you make one! you can just modify a basic animal costume pattern like a bunny, etc… Add ferocious claws, and shoe covers for safety reasons, a long very fluffy elasticized tail for proper boing, and you are well on your way.
