“Let them eat cake!” Since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with Marie Antoinette. After months of planning I have finally completed the costume. I am wearing this to a Muscular Dystrophy charity ball that my mother-in-law hosts every year. This was the first year they have done it on Halloween so I finally had an excuse to make an elaborate costume. I made the dress and undergarments. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the stays (corset). If you’d like to see it I can link you to my blog. I repurposed a pair of old shoes to match the dress. I also made the wig. Yesterday I even dyed and curled the feathers to match. I did a little bit of everything for this costume and it was super fun. :-D

I love it! It looks like you used a historical pattern/draft as opposed to a costume. And the wig is the icing on the cake (pun intended)!

Yes! It was Patterns of Time or something. The colors/details may not be accurate but I wanted to look like a cupcake. :)

Thanks! Making the wig was super fun. I was surprised at how well it turned out. I’ve never been good at doing hair. Haha
