Reinheitsgebot 1516, the German Beer purity law. Beer can only be made of Barley, Hops and Water.
Tan fabric=Barley, Green=Hops and Blue=water. Theme for the 2011 Festival was “Let’s go to the Hops”. Tied together the Fifties sock-hop with Reinheitsgebot. Stamped Barley onto the collar fabric.
Stamped hops on to cuff fabric. Also stamped Barley & Hops onto plain paper which was scanned
and printed onto Shrinky Dink plastic to make custom buttons. Ptotographed beer bottle and poured beer for transfer. This was ironed onto 100% cotton for backing and cut out. Had the beer "pour into the glass. Punched holes into the bottle cap to sew on. Made up fake “Saddle Shoes”, sewed on decorative buttons on the socks and purchased chiffon scarf and cat eye glasses to complete the look.
