I made a Hamburger Helper Hand costume for my 3 yr old son, although he thinks it’s a handy helper hand from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
I made the pattern for this costume myself based off of a picture I found on the internet. I used the rolled cushion foam (I think that’s what it’s called) you get by yard sandwiched inside 2 layers of fabric for support but it wasn’t sturdy enough so I added bamboo skewers and metal hangers so the fingers would stand up. It wouldn’t stay on his head so I took the bill off of an old white baseball cap I had and sewed that to the head hole so it would stay on his head. The face was made using felt pieces that I sewed into place. The red band at the bottom of the glove is stuffed with plain poly stuffing.
He really seems to like it. Now I have to see if I can get my costume done in time for Halloween.
cotton, felt, bamboo skewers, wire hangers, poly stuffing, and an old baseball cap
