Description

My cowboy and his horse, Sprocket, are riding off in the sunset after a long day of coloring like crazy.

When I had a bit of faux leather leftover from making a headboard I knew I wanted to make some tiny chaps for my toddler to be a cowboy for Halloween. He was going to be a sheriff, but then I had the idea of the sling/holder for crayons instead of bullets. My husband thought we should get him a little gun and have shotgun shells in the holder, but we had crayons and that was one less thing for me to figure out how to make :)

His little sister is a sassy saloon baby: http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/bernina-halloween-2011-sassy-saloon-baby?image=229869

Material Notes

The chaps, crayon sling and reigns are faux leather leftover from a previous project and I bent paperclips for the rings on the horse’s reigns. The belt buckle is recycled aluminum foil. The rest of the costume is stuff we had around the house.
