The Fabulous 50s – Bernina 3 Series “Party through the Decades” dress was inspired by my 1953, all metal, sewing machine. It’s the only machine I’ve ever owned and it weighs about 40 lbs! Or at least it certainly feels like it when I have to lug it about. My dress is a modern interpretation of the classic full circle skirt, inspired by pin-up girls like Betty Paige and Marilyn Monroe and the rockin’ house wives who created an iconic fashion that would be envied for decades.

That’s a shame your outfit really rocks. I love the shorts in the same fabric so much it’s unreal – i’m a student now and really can’t afford to buy them (sadly) but if you ever share or sell the pattern do post on burda!
