I took inspiration from both the victorian era and the 1920’s flapper girls. I love the elegance and details of the victorian period, as well as the great puffed sleeves, but love the shorter sassier look of the 1920’s. I combined the two and added a modern touch with the elastic waist and sleeves.
For the top I used cream satin with a lace overlay, the sleeves are lace over black silk. The puffed sleeves are gathered with black elastic.
The skirt and middle sections are black silk with a sheer overlay. The 3" elastic waist allows this dress to be pulled over your head. The sheer skirt has great flow and movement to it, as well as a flattering cut!

I love victorian and ‘20s. You’ve combined them elegantly. Gorgeous. A fabulous project and it’s your first, too! Congratulations.
