SKIRT
Fold the skirt panels, right sides facing. Pin the center back seam. Stitch the seam from the top to the slit sign (arrow). Secure seam ends. Baste the slit. Neaten allowances and press apart. Pin the skirt panel onto the bodice. Try the dress on to adjust the skirt length. Remove the skirt again (a).

HEMLINE and SLIT
Remove the basting stitches from the slit. Position the allowance. Trim hemline allowance, fold and sew by hand (b). Turn slit allowances to the inside and stitch onto the hemline ©.
