I made these two variations on the Jean Stirrup Pants and Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress from the BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern book for my sister (www.letsmakeadaisychainvintage.blogspot.com is her super cool fashion blog, plug plug). The Liv Bell-Bottoms are almost exactly as in the book. The Amelia Top is slightly varied, for the sides I used buttons on added flaps instead of a zipper. I also cut the side front and back pieces a little smaller under the arms as you can see in the second picture, as I preferred the effect the bias tape created of outlining the whole top piece, with a squared point at the sides.
I used a light weight pale blue denim for the trousers, it worked well as I think with the flare and the tightness around the thighs a heavier fabric would have not sat well. The top is made from a very light weight cotton and some white bias tape.
