I made my first leather bag! I made it out of old leather pants my friend gave me. It took me a lot of time to make it, but it was so worth it (I think… let´s see how I will like it while wearing ;). I was inspired by reMade USA, mainly their Ashbury bag and rennes, mostly by this design. In the end I combined both designs :). I wanted to make really practical bag with sturdy metal zipper, adjustable strap, zippered pocket inside and short handles. I would probably like it to be bigger, but the amount of material was limited. My husband helped me with the rivets (I love them!). The colour is more adequate in the greener photos (it´s more green than gray). I love this bag :).

thanks! unfortunately. the zipper broke – I think it´s because it was kind of crooked due to the pants it was made from…

hi janul, this bag is extra cool! I adore your phantasy to see a bag hidden in trousers and go about the project. And the lining gives it a very noble look when opening…whow! the button is also sweeeet!

My dear, this is soo w o w! I take my hat off to you for sewing leather (I think undoing seams would be a problem, so every stitch has to fit). Stunning. Congratulations! :-)

Oh yeah, I´ve read that you have to be precise and that while sewing leather you can´t unpick a seam, but… I decided to be quite easygoing with that :). The holes are very small and almost invisible… I wasn´t unpicking much, but I did it somewhere and it´s ok :). It´s great that there is no grain direction and you don´t have to finish the edges.

Nádhera… moc se mi líbí i podšívka a způsob přichycení malých uch na nošení v ruce. Podařená a praktická taška.

Wow, this looks great! I’ve got a leather jacket sitting around waiting to be turned into a bag but I’m still scared to try. Maybe I’ll give it a go seeing as yours turned out so well!

thank you, I have a jacket that I want to make a bag as well :). I´m afraid too, as jackets are thicker than pants, and I don´t know how will my machine go through the thick leather… But I guess we have to try to find out! :)

Amazing! Was it hard to sew leather?

thanks! It wasn´t hard at all, as this leather is quite soft. I have very simple machine and normal needle and it was mostly ok. The sides where the strap is attached are probably too thick to sew, so I used the rivets.
