I blatantly stole this idea from pambox, and in fact I also blatantly stole some of the actual ties from her as well.
Basically, it’s just a bunch of ties from the op shop sewn together with very narrow seams. I cut them to the length I wanted, put a zipper in and used bias binding for a waistband.
I especially love the astronaut tie I found, and the Ravenclaw tie. Have to let my geek show somehow!
