Description

I found this beautiful batik print and I couldnt resist. It screamed Maryy dress. Its been actually very cold in Florida this year and today was a rather springy day. I love my Orange Batik Maryy dress at the beach. I added a ruffle at the bottom to make it more beachy and eliminated the zipper.

I think other people who have large boobs like me would like it so I listed in on Etsy.

I hope no one takes offense to my listing a for sale item. I had a bad experience with another member of Burdastyle who objects to selling items here on Burdastyle (actually she objects to many things). I am not selling to this community per say since I assume you already create and sew your own garments. I add the for sale banner since I enjoy when other members that are on a commercial site have success with their hard work. Thanks.

This is so beautiful and summery! Thanks for sharing – my mom also has bigger boobs and I wanted to make her something for her birthday this summer, but wasn’t sure of what style would look good on her body type… (I’m unfortunately greatly lacking in the chest department so couldn’t visualize what would be flattering, ha ha ha). Looks like Maryy dress will be just the ticket! ps: good for you for taking the high road, I think negative comments don’t really have a place in an online community like this one that is meant to be supportive and inspiring. :-)

Actually I think Maryy is pretty too on smaller chest. It is just hard to find patterns that not only fit a larger bust but actually looks good. Thanks for your kind comments. I am with you completely. My experience on Burdastyle so far has been “supportive and inspiring”. I dont make negative comments and if I dont like a something I just skip it.

The dress is very nice, works well with the fabric. But why would you make a not very nice comment about another member in your description? It very much detracts from your lovely dress.

Thanks for the compliment and opening the conversation. I didnt mention anyone by name because it doesnt matter who the member was. I just was rather taken aback by strong feelings that people share about the for sale banner. I understand it but I wanted to express my point of view. I do agree with u that by bringing my feelings about the for sale banner I did take away from the sewing and that is what is all about- the work.

Ohhh…. I’d forgotten that I had already downloaded this free BurdaStyle pattern I think I’ll make one for the beach this summer (and yay re: the ruffle – it looks really sweet)!

    Maryy #6042

Plus, I love all the different versions everyone has made of this, I think I’ll make one where the halter-neck is sewn in the centre of the bust to tie-up around the neck :)

I am definitely making at least a version of Maryy one day!!! :-) Yours looks very pretty! And I love the orange (and can’t wait till I can use mine – not like yours, but still orange ;-)) for the dress I envisioned (not Maryy, though – not this one)! :-)

Hmmmm… (Trying to “leaf” through my fabrics in my mind)… Yes, definitely! But later – too many ideas have been simmering and are now boiling out! :-)
