When i first saw the fabric in my favourite fabric – store i was excited. i really liked the checked pattern and the colour.
But the whole thing turned out to be a nightmare. the fabric was really hard to sew and i often thought of giving it up in the last three days.
But right now i am glad that i didn´t. I kind a like the result although it didn´t come out exactly the way i wanted :)
I took the Danielle Bodice (free Burda pattern) and changed it a bit. The rest of the pattern was drafted by myself.
After i saw this beautiful dress http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/sunshine-and-spots from gorgous JuliaBobbin, i decided that i wanted my next dress to have some kind of Cap Sleeves too.
So i searched for further inspiration till i found this http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/plaid-schoolgirl-dress from lovely Miss Uepsillon:
i wanted to do something sweet for my everyday university life.
Big thanks to both Lady´s!

Yes ! The first one is a whool fabric that i’m currently using as a lining for a warm jacket (hoping to finish it really really soon ! plus it’s quite freezing out there, since monday ^^). I will use the Vanessa skirt pattern for the second one, which has larger stripes (can’t wait to see how it will turn out !). And i’m thinking of a top for the third one, inspired from the ‘Mad about Peggy’ dress (yes, JuliaBobbin i’m a fan of yours too !), because i really had a crush on it ! ;) Yeah, if i wanna see all these added on the Projects section, i’d better go back to sew immediately ! :)

Yeah the “Mad about Peggy” dress is so cool and beautiful. i thought about bying a similar fabric and try something like this by myself.
i looked for the vanessa skirt you mentioned: i really can see this design in tartan. i think to use this pattern is a great choice. a little bit punky :)
i am excited to see the result soon :)
