Bavarian Storybook Dirndl German dress

Added Sep 13, 2013

by Casey McNabb...

Cleveland, Ohio,...

Made with the 7057 Dirndl Folklore Burda pattern. This is my dirndl I made for our Summer Oktoberfest. Using a Burda pattern, I was able to make this German Dress. I added a few extra details and adjusted the pattern to fit me. I also used a pleated skirt instead of a gathered skirt so there was not a lot of bulk for the waist. I used my own pattern for the apron.

Material Notes

This dress is made with all quality quilt cotton fabrics and satin for the apron and piping.

Wow!!! you look quite simply fabulous, the whole outfit is beautiful. I love your fabric choices. I used to love the oktoberfest when i lived in germany, maybe it was the warm mulled wine (gluhwein) lol. The boot with the flowers on the door is adorable as well x
