My first Burda Style project – With no knowledge of ‘serge’ or overlock machines, plus no ribbing I made this t-shirt over a determined weekend.
Used the Pete pattern which is great – it’s easy to follow and adapt.
I finished the edging with a double needle, so if like me, you are starting out, you don’t need anything but scissors, thread, needles material and to borrow a sewing machine.
I used a jersey material, cut the pattern to a size medium and removed quite a lot of the bottom edge as it was rather long.

Hi! Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and encouragement.
For the collar: I rolled it over and sewed about 1 cm from the edge using a double needle on the sewing machine.
The front went ok but you can see where it went a bit wobbly on the back of the collar.
