My husband had a very beloved jacket that was disintegrating. So I thought I’ll give it a try, I cut it apart and made a pattern after the old one, I added 5cm on the length (according to his wishes) and voila!
Cotton.

Thankx for all your kind feed-back, heartwarming!
Benedikta, my husband likes casual clothing; he is very tall, so he has triuble in finding clothes long enough (e.g. sleeves). The jacket has been a hit, he wants more :) He also likes polo-shirts and casual (jeans-type) trousers.
Elaine, I was considering to reuse the zippers, but they were kinda worn down so they had to go, but the rope and the stoppers at the hood come from the old jacket. The old jacket had also a stretch (net) lining, mine is plain black thin (non-stretch) cotton, so I had to adjust for it (cut my lining bigger than the original – I had great help from the video on this site showing how to line a jacket, Steffi I think it was).
Nora, the initials are mine :-)

good job lilo, what a lucky husband you got..he is almost smiling :). Even more a reason to get men’s pattern on the site as soon as possible! What would your husband like to have?
