Basic A-line skirt, came out great. Couple minor snags along the way, most importantly, I remembered after cutting out all the pieces that the magazine patterns DO NOT include a seam allowance…. Argh. Seriously?!? Again, argh. I had cut the size 38 based on finished hip measurements (I had to guess that the 38 was the third smallest size based on other BurdaStyle patterns I’ve downloaded as the pattern is not labeled with sizes either). I just went ahead and sewed small seam allowances. As my fabric was slightly see through, I made a lining with white muslin. Other than that, I didn’t really vary from the original. This was my first invisible zipper, and I love it!!! Except that I spaced and didn’t notice the back waistband edges don’t quite match up. But otherwise perfect, and I will proudly wear this skirt out once the weather improves.
