Description
Am going to teach a young child how to make dresses for her Barbie and I had a bit of time on my hands and ran these up.
Pink one was improved by sewing a channel inside for elastic or it would just have been a kaftan. Should really add something to hide the raw edges on the inside of the sleeves.
Quite pleased with the green one as I’ve never sewn elastic onto material before so I even french seamed down the back.
Ok so I had some down time. Have included the no sew top and dress as a halter and strappy design (and her very big sister created a few others when the dresses were given). Made a purple dress out of some upcycled pants! The fleece was a scrap I had, the skirt is from what was cut out for the arms. And the shrug is from the toe of the tights. Great fun! Lol!
Material Notes
Pink is the bottom leg of a pair of cropped trousers I’ve used some before for my owl bag lining.
Green is the sample og Brighton material given away with the Quiliting magazine-had to do something useful with it the magazine was rubbish and this was the biggest piece of material!

Thank you. think I’ll start with the off cut of tights, with a couple of holes for arms you can make loads of different dresses, loads of fun lol

These are so sweet Laura and I know how fiddly they are to sew. I use to clothe my younger sisters Barbie many years ago and they were not the easiest things to make. Well Done!!!!

Thank you. I’ve cut out a fleece jumper and 2 skirts, thought I should attempt something the little one can have a go at. Although I did enjoy playing around with an 8inch length of tights making a no sew dress and a shrug from the cut off toe lol

Thank you, a friend wants on in size 12 but the top would need to be way more secure as it would pop down in real life lol.
