Bandeau Bikini – BurdaStyle 05/2012 #117
Bikini Bottom – BurdaStyle 04/2012 #120
I used somewhat more appropriate fabric for a bikini this time – a modern stretch jersey remnant costing 50c from the sewing store – but I only just had enough for this bikini set with not an inch to spare. They’re a lil’ skimpy for me, I am in fact not a bikini person and never will be I suspect, but I like how they appear almost professional looking, lol. They were sewn fairly quickly and without fuss using tricot stitch, and they are self lined and lightweight. I put elastic in the waist band, and also added side ties; for them I used tee-shirting as for the bandeau ties. Location: Waiheke Island.
4-way stretch jersey or polyknit with an ethno ikat print; ties cut from the hem of an old salmon color t-shirt.
