GOT A NEW BOOK; ‘Pattern Magic 2’ by Tomoko Nakamichi and i LOVE it!
This always going to be the first thing I made from this book; A ball- shaped accordion (jabara).
Its only a tulle that needs some work on but i’m still experimenting with it for a currrent college project but there’s so may more i wanna make, they take foreverrr.
I highly recomend the book, however there is not description of how to construct its kinda a hit and miss.

Oh yeah they are and thankyouu :). Yeah the designer is a she. It says in the back of the book she created these patterns to instruct her degree students.

i love this sleeve, jsut feel it is pretty darn impractical on a laundered garment… meh, may just have to use it anyway! for wow value it scores high!

You made the cover design! Cool, I’ve never seen it made up outside the book. Do you plan to incorporate it into a garment? I’ll look forward to seeing your finished project.
I have Pattern Magic 1 and 2, in English. I plan to buy nr. 3 as soon as the English version is available. Although the graphics are always very clear, it is easier if you’re able to read the instructions. They sometimes offer some short pointers on things like the order of construction. In fact, I’ve just posted a shirt I made with the curved collar from Pattern Magic 1. It’s a little further down the ‘Projects’ page here.

Well I hope so but i’m going to cut holes into another tulle and experiment with the light and shade first, that’s my project for college really. Thankyou I hope there will be a finished outcome,,
I looked everywhere on the internet for someone who used this sleeve pattern. I wanted to see how they attached it to a basic slope, but it was just a guess really and alot of pins.
Ooo I would love pattern magic 1, ah yes I did see it,, how difficult was it?
