A lady at work wanted a bag, so I copied this idea from the Missouri Star Quilt Co.
As I didn’t have any charm packs, I used a layer cake. I cut each square in half, then one of the halves in half again, making quarters. The quarters were used to make the bag body, and the halves were used for the handles. The lining is pink quilting backing from Denver.com that I bought out of their “by piece” discount bin.
The beading was done by hand, as was the topstitching, as I’ve still not worked out what’s wrong with my sewing machine. :( All of the sewing was done on my serger.
Unfortunately I finished it literally seconds before we had to leave for work, so I snapped quick pics on the way out to the car. No time for details or special styling. Boo.
The recipient is thrilled, and her family is jealous! LOL
