When the kids started swimming lessons last month, I realized our bag selection was pretty pitiful. I happened to have an hour or so at the fabric store and picked out some home dec fabric at a screaming deal ($2/m for the purple and $4/m for the blue), bought a metre of each and had plenty of fabric to spare for another project. No pattern, just took a rectangle of fabric, sewed on a pocket outside (I also sewed a pocket inside the blue bag for a glasses case- I hid the sewing under the external pocket to ensure it was well within the bag so they would not get misplaced), folded in half and sewed up the sides then added handles. Just made sure they would handle a towel and other swimming stuff.
