Description
I NEEDED to sew SOMETHING while I was waiting for my couture dress pattern to arrive, so I made this bag out of bits and pieces…might give it to my Mum :) A bit fiddly, but happy enough with the overall result. It’s based on the Burdastyle Bag from the book, with a couple of modifications (flap, single strap etc).
Material Notes
Brown sheeting, blue wool felt and paisley quilting fabric.

Ditto Marjorie (and lucky you to be heading overseas!). I just had the urge to sew and I didn’t feel like making clothing…don’t know if Mum will like it, she can always give it to a local charity down where she lives. Have you looked at any of the couture dress videos yet? I’m really looking forward to spending a bit of time to get things right and I like the calm of sewing by hand, can’t wait.

I am sure your Mum will be happy with this bag Jenny. It looks like it will be very handy and fit heaps in it. Are you waiting on the Craftsy Couture dress pattern?? If you are, I have signed up for that class too and I got my pattern in just over 3 weeks. I haven’t started yet but will when I get home from my holiday in Europe. The pattern is lovely and I have bought a floral Dupion silk to make it in. I think I would be able to make it without this course but I am sure there will be techniques taught that I know nothing about, so I am really looking forward to starting it. Good luck with your dress and I look forward to seeing it.
