When I found this fabric I knew it was time for a fifties “good gal” dress. I drafted the pattern myself. At one stage I felt pretty disappointed as I thought it just looked as a boring school uniform. In the end I am quite pleased with the result, though, there are things I would have done differently. I think the dress would look much less “uniformish” had I laid the pattern on the checked fabric diagonaly, not straight. I might buy a white elastic belt to wear with this. At the moment the front fastening is just pinned, I need to buy some snap fasteners.
