I have been on a sewing hiatus for awhile. The reason was because many of my projects were ending up unfinished or unwearable and I was getting discouraged about my skill level. I realized that I was trying to run before learning to crawl. I need to start my sewing journey slowly and in steps instead of jumping to complicated sewing patterns and alterations. So this is the first project of the year. Simple leggings from mccalls 6173. I was confused about the sizing and made a size medium, then had to serge off an inch on each side. It can still be taken in a little more around the thigh and knee.

I feel very similar to how you feel regarding skill level vs project selection. I am inspired by your story and I think I too will give this project a try. Well done!
