last summer, i took 8500 miles and two months to get from los angeles to brooklyn.
i might’ve taken the long way.
i was looking for someplace to go besides new york.
but, um, there was no place else for me. (thank goodness.)
anyway, on the way, i swung by little rock to hang out with some bikers i met at sturgis.
and at a goodwill, i bought a really pretty little girl’s party dress because i really liked the cream and gold fabric, and, i though, someday i’ll make something out of this.
that day was yesterday.
gimme a hell yeah: upcycle.
the inside is lined in a lovely designer-surplus off-white silk.
super beautiful and one-of-a-kind. i may be doing similar jackets in the future, but this is the only one quite like this.
beautiful shape and hang and body.
perfect for all those awesome holiday parties you’ll be going to. or dress it with jeans.
size medium.
measurements:
top of back collar to hem: 14 1/2"
end of sleeve to end of sleeve: 38"
sleeve cuff circumference: 10"

Nice story. Me to like to transform things into something else. Love the creation!

a HA hum…..what a symbolic rite of passage buying and transforming this little girl dress. Don’t know what papa Freud would say about it… your childlike facial expression, the craddle shape of your hands….. Ok enough of bad 3rd hand analysis,I just like the story behind your creation as well. I find that in general there is always a lot to see (if not to read, eh he) in the pictures you post on Burdastyle.
