I made this dress for a friend’s wedding. It uses a nightdress pattern (oh my!) but it looks a bit like a Sewaholic Cambie dress.
It’s hard work with slippy fabrics. I sewed some of the trickier curves using the tissue paper method, where you pin tissue paper to the fabric before sewing to help stabilise under the needle. But that gets messy so I’m keeping it to a minimum. The skirt was whipped up quickly with an elastic waist to save putting a zipper in.
When I did rigorous dancing the shoulder straps would fall down. But mostly I was over the moon with this one
French crepe in emerald, lilac, violet and black
Purple micro-fibre polyester lining
Elastic waist band
