Description

This dress is c o m f o r t a b l e!

I altered the Built By Wendy shift dress in the Dress’ book by adding 1 1/2" flare on the sides from the hem to the arm. I also divided the pattern and added seam allowances for the color blocking. I reaallly tried to be precise for this one!

I also experimented with finishing techniques, which I need to work on..

Material Notes

Black fabric is cotton, white is wool; both second-hand.

Very cute concept! I agree with Popbabe7, Emma Peel from the Avengers would definitely wear something like this

Really love the black and white. I like that it is not perfectly symmetrical as well. Nice work!

Ummm….I live in Montreal and I am making a very similar dress right now too….let’s hope we don’t run into each other! Or if we do, we will immediately recognize one another :)

Actually, mine is blocked white, black and houndstooth (I know, I watch too much Project Runway and I loved Mila Hermanovski’s colour blocking).

That’s funny! It was my first time color blocking and I LOVED it! It will be hard to stop……

      I love Mila too!

very unique and cool! I love the contrast between the curvy hem and the straight line that divides black and white. I’d wear it with bright colored tights ;-) Great job!
