Description

My first time making shorts, drafted with the aid of Winifred Aldrich’s book with my own measurements. I’ve always had problems getting nice shorts that fit decently, and elastic shorts just made my bum look bigger than it already is. So I am pretty happy with this pair! Even though it took 2 muslin fittings to get right, I felt it was very well worth the extra time and effort (this being the first time I’ve done muslin fittings haha).

    Love the shorts and the colour of them. I can never find shorts in the shops that I like, these are so lovely. I want to make some for myself.

    Fits you like a dream, you did an amazing job! I’ve been craving for similar pair of shorts for some time, but I can’t seem to find the right fabric. Yours is just great!

      thank you kelerabeus! i like this suiting fabric because it doesnt crumple up like normal cotton.. i used to think suiting fabric was too formal for me, but then i found all these colourful ones at the fabric store n got all excited.. hahaha

      thank you! no it wasn’t hard, it’s quite fun actually :D the book really helped me a lot with drafting the pattern, u should check it out! ;-) i believe there is a user on burdastyle called gedwoods who also has instructions on drafting a trouser block which you can modify for it to be a pair of shorts :-)

      thank you very much! i think the suiting material helped a lot in making it look good too.. never thought i’d say this but i can’t wait to go shopping for more suiting material in different colours to make more shorts! :D
