I was looking through over 150 Kasia skirts to find the one seamstress who whould 1. use contrasting colours and 2 extend the contrasting colour to the waist band. What your skirt proofs is that this solution is extremely flattering as it elongates and slims the look from the front. One tiny critisism- I think wearing a white shirt kind of undermined the desired effect. As it makes a skirt look like a strange apron worn over the shirt with the hips exposed. But anything in a different shade on top ( dark Navy?some kind of nautical print?) , I reckon would look stunning. I have this pattern printed and your version is definitely inspiring.
