This is a quick project to make for your marvelous Mum. It took me about 2 hours to make and makes a real change from daffodils.
You can find more information on my blog, The Sewing Corner.

1) A mouse mat in need of a makeover
2) Thread in a contrasting colour
3) Sewing kit including your machine, zipper foot, standard presser foot, and a 6 inch embroidery hoop
4) Fabric. I used blue linen. You can use large remnants of fabric. Just make sure they are at least 3 inches (7.5cm,) longer and wider than the mouse mat.
