I used Burdas pattern #113 of the issue 9/2010 to sew this trench. It’s the third trench i’ve sewn so far and I finally like the result. I used a navy blue gabardine, golden sateen- bias tape to finish the inside instead of inserting a lining and metal buttons. I like the classic deatils, e.g. the hooks at the collar and the tippet. This time I did a lot of hand-finishing and it shows, I’m very pleased with the outcome. It’s by no means perfect but I’m happy to wear it anyways. I recommend the pattern but pay attention to the sizing, it’s running a bit big- I added buttons at the back to keep the box pleat shut but maybe you should consider going a size down when sewing it yourself. I also suggest using a heavier interfacing, I chose G405 instead of G785 and it worked out well.
