No zip sailor style shorts for summer/autumn.
This is the second pair of shorts that i’ve made using the Sailor Shorts pattern. The fabric is the same cream curtain lining at £1.50 per metre with stamp embellishment made with a simple hand-carved lino stamp and brown fabric paint.
I knew i wanted to try another shaped pocket that matched the fabric – and when i had made the oak leaf print fabric – an acorn was an obvious choice!

You might appreciate what my 12 year old granddaughter, Raven, called me…a clothes stalker! I was peeking into her closet to see her A&F shorts (yours are every bit as “cool”) & I got tagged. Only stalker anyone should be!

Super cute. You did a great job choosing the details – I love the acorn pocket, leaf print, buttons and contrast binding.

Thanks! I love the buttons too – they are vintage wood-effect resin from my German Grandma’s amazing stash.

Yes – up on the right there’s a link to the “Sailor Shorts with lips pocket” pattern. You don’t have to make the lips pocket – use the instructions to make the pocket any shape, eg an acorn! lol

I am visiting family in southern U.S. The girls really, really love these shorts, as do I! Can not get enough of the sailor cut-my guy was one. Cute, cute, cute!
