I really liked the look of this A -line dress in the 9/2012 issue of Burdastyle magazine. I used 1.5 yards of brown corduroy and black lining underneath. I can’t wait for the cooler weather to wear this. This pattern is simple to make and I"m planning on another one.

I love both of your versions of this jumper, as well as how you style the – really versatile and comfortable but polished and with nice clean lines (I’m always impressed with the many different projects you’ve posted on here – SO MANY of the patterns I’ve considered making have a version made by you – you have excellent taste, and you’re truly a talented sewist – plus you have such a great eye for matching fabrics and designs, I am always impressed!) I also like how it turned out without the pockets – good to know that’s an option. I’m a novice sewer, and I have had my eye on this pattern for a while – and recently was given some really gorgeous (and probably expensive) lightweight wool yardage as a gift, and I’m terrified of picking something I won’t wear or will end up in “The Pile of Unfinished Frustrations” . . . but I am thinking this pattern is the One. Thanks so much for your helpful and always-inspirational posts!

Thank you for such a really kind comment! I’m glad someone notices my work. It’s interesting you mentioned this pattern because I just finished cutting fabric to make a third dress of this pattern. It’s just so comfy and easy to make. Plus, I actually wear these outfits to work. I hope you finish your project. I’d love to see it!

Thanks Chula! Another pattern that will be used time and again. I didn’t do the pockets though. I just thought it might be a bit poochy in an area where it wouldn’t flatter. I can’t wait to see yours in velours leather. I’m sure it’s going to be really cool.

Thank you! I wore it to work the other day and it was comfortable. I think wool is going to be great. In fact I may have to think about making another one in that fabric. I can’t wait to see yours!
