I am trying to make a pattern out of every Burdastyle issue, so this blouse is my effort for September 2011 (09/2011 Sleeveless blouse #128). The blouse was quite big and boxy so I brought the seams in a lot, but I think I needed to bring them in a little more. The skirt is a simple waistband type skirt, where I double box pleated the body of the skirt on the waist band. I will have a tutorial for this soon… if only there were more hours in the day.
Does anyone else find that the Burdastyle patterns fit quite poorly? At least I am improving my fitting skills!

Super cute outfit. Love the skirt, the top…everything! :). The burdastyle tops looks awesome in that fabric. Perhaps you should go down a size in the burda patterns.

I like what you have done with the blouse. I’m planning on making one of my own. I need to adjust the Burda-patterns too. Way to big :)

i love your outfit and i do think, that you did a wonderful job fittingwise. i agree with you, that the fit of burdastyle patterns is a little (if not very! :-) loose. but if you did a few pieces for yourself, you get used to it and just work with it. your things are lovely, well done and fit you great!

I have been sewing with Burda style for almost 40 years and I would rather use a Burda pattern than any other brand. My shape has changed over the years, so I really have to double check the measurements to get the fit that I want. I have not tried this pattern but everything I have made recently has been as I would have expected fit wise. I do like the look of your blouse on you and I really like how the stripes meet up around your neck line. Well done.

I made this blouse a few months ago and found that there was a lot of ease for my size. I’m still thrilled with the blouse but when I make it again (and I will) I’ll be making a lot of adjustments to get a better fit. That being said, I love your version. The stripes look so lovely with the gathering at the collar. Beautifully done!
