This was a really easy dress to make, and makes a big statement. I got the inspiration from Breakfast at Tiffany and Charades, both of which profile Audrey Hepburn wearing a LBD.
The back of the dress is open and there is an invisible zipper under the arm. I found the pattern, which was Simplicity 2180, very easy to work with. I had made the day version twice before, and wanted to try my hand at the evening one. I am really pleased with how it worked out and I would definately reccomend it.
The day dress version that I made is Retro Reminiscent Good-bye Party Dress
The material was of an unknown origin, which is too bad because I would use it again.
I made the slit on the side a bit shorter for a more conservative wear, but I will definately be making this dress again in a brighter fabric for the summer
