I found this aztec fabric online at fabrics.com, and as I am a sucker for ethnic prints, I bought yards and yards of it. I made this tank by simply tracing a tank I already owned and fitting it as I went. I surged the edges of the tank (this was while I was working for a sewing class – free access to surging, how I miss it!).
This skirt was originally a pair of big, strange, purple shorts. I thought the detail with the buttons at the top was very cute, so I decided to take it apart below the belt and make a skirt out of it. I really like these two items together.
Note: The skirt is the item for sale in my shop, not the top. I’m much too attached to the top.
Top: 100% cotton knit Skirt: 60% polyester, 40% cotton

Yeah I love this fabric. I still have some left so I have to figure out what to make with it. Originally I wanted to make some sleep shorts, so I could have a cutesy tank and short combo with this fabric.
