This red wool had been in the stash for several years, virtually unusable because it was actually fluro orange. I experimented with red dye and it turned out a more acceptable fire-engine red. Given the pattern calls for cotton garbadine (and I used wool), it turned out pretty voluminous and the seams are bulky. I like it all the same.
