I have found this crazy fabric in the basket where fabrics with flaws end up.. Length of the piece was about 1-1.20m.. It is some kind of lightweight viscose fabric, very slippery.. For me the print was a combination of a galaxy and the Rorschach test.. Once again I had a minimum of fabric to work with.. It was a bit challenging to place the dress pattern on fabric, because every motive had its own repetition, which means no symmetry within the fabric!!

For bodice I used a pattern for a shirt #107 from Burda 09/2008 .. The skirt is simple, two gathered rectangles.. The dress has a loose silhouette which I prefer for summer dresses..

What an awesome creation from such unique and challenging fabric! I would have been to scared to even try, though I would have wanted that fabric very much!

    What a great little dress!

thank you very much :) sometimes I need a challenge.. when I chose fabric like this I tend to combine it with a simple sewing pattern so everything would look good in the end :)
