Nedre Vats, Norway
I do love challenges and for this project there were two; the pattern and the fabric. I chose this pattern as a thank you gift from BurdaStyle after my interview.
I had an idea how to make this dress, but change my mind several times.. I found this crazy print fabric in my stash which I have saved for a special garment. It is transparent jersey with silver coated print , which was hard to put the needles in. For the skirt I have used satin with effect which I bought in Copenhagen. This fabric was slippery so I had to hand stitch a lot, and it was the same with the upper part. I used an embroidery needle to make sure the seams would be nice. The hem and sleeve hem I hand stitched as well, and also the inside seams with the pleats. I had to iron the seams very carefully and use a cloth over when ironing because top-cover of the fabric.
I’m happy with the result and I’m looking forward to use it in a party soon :)
