We all know that you can never have enough jewelry, and with this great bangle idea, your collection is sure to grow even larger! Using different types of yarn and ribbon, you can create a host of different styles that can fit a variety of occasions. Cover bangles you may already have (varying widths will look great!), or purchase a bunch at your local costume jewelry shop.
Of course, they make great, quick gifts too, but we’d understand it if you’d like to keep them for yourself!
This great idea is brought to you by Alicia Kachmar, a Brooklyn-based writer and crafter, as part of BurdaStyle’s 2009 Last Minute Gift Series. Find out more about her on her website.
Assorted Plastic Bangles at least 10 inches around (available at most costume jewelry shops or craft stores), Assorted Yarns (approximately 8 yds. per 1/2 inch tall bangle, or 16 yds. per 1 inch bangle, etc.), Craft Glue. 1/8 inch Metallic Wired Ribbon (approximately 30 inches per bangle; you can also use regular ribbon, but wired ribbon will hug the bangle better), Tapestry Needle
