slip-cover and cushion covers for an old armchair. the fabric used to be a pair of curtains, I didn’t use a pattern but winged it.
a sort of yellow-white brocade fabric, fibre content unknown as second-hand.

Thanks, I really appreciate your comments : )
ralarkins – the slip-cover doesn’t have any fasteners, it just slips over the top, and then has to be yanked into position over the arms. it’s fitted enough to stay in place by itself, but the shape of the armchair means it didn’t need an opening. lucky, because I might have given up if it did. the two cushion covers are made envelope style – like pillow cases, and aren’t very tidy at back. There are several messy bits that are hidden – I just got to the point where I gave up trying to make it perfect : )

Wow! Good job. Having slipcovered two of my couches, I can really appreciate the work you put in. I had to laugh at your no pattern comment. When I looked at a slipcover ‘pattern’ in the fabric store, it was more of a dissertation on the technique :-) It sounds like you followed it, because as you are making your first slipcover, you really are winging it. Just out of curiosity, since it looks like you made a fitted slipcover, how did you close it? Zipper, Ties, Velcro? It isn’t clear from the pictures.
